About Taurus on a Budget.

Greetings friends and strangers! I'm Tricia. I'm in my late thirties and living in San Francisco with my partner. We both have challenging careers. I work in Corporate Business Development and she works in Senior Management for a nationally recognized health care clinic. We're also both Earth signs who are striving to balance the challenges of our 9-5 careers (7-7 for her!!) with the goodness life has to offer. The past couple of years have taught us that this pace of life isn't sustainable longterm for the type of life we want to live together, so we're taking steps to save as much as we can, while still enjoying the fruits of our labor, so we can retire from corporate life and focus on volunteering and nonprofit work overseas. We'll share travel tips to enjoy San Francisco, Northern California and beyond, through blog posts. I'll add some cute little custom illustrations along the way.

Paid off $35,000 in credit card debt!

Unfortunately, I found myself in quite a pickle in my early 30's. I was in denial about how much credit card debt I had accrued in my 20's because I was never able to secure a salary above $40,000 a year. Throughout my 20's, my salary ranged from $26,000 to $40,000 depending on how many jobs I was working at any given time. Insufficient compensation wrecked havoc on my finances over time. I was able to turn it around and share more about the process in My Money Story.

Led Financial Peace University for 2 years!

Shout out to Dave Ramsey!

I guided a variety of folks through 2 years of Financial Peace University courses. It was an honor to help share debt payoff plans and tips with people from a variety of backgrounds. I was going through a divorce during the time while I was leading these classes, and I think my story was relatable and helpful to many of the students in my classes.

Living a lovely life on a budget

I haven't carried a credit card balance since January 2021, which is a huge win for me. I have up-leveled my career and have drastically altered my relationship with money. I now see my budget as a source of freedom instead of a constraint on my life.
